Michaels Avenue Redevelopment
Progress on the Michaels Ave Reserve Redevelopment Project has been slow but steady over 2006 due to Council’s requirement to find a cost effective resolution to the changes in storm water runoff from the surrounding neighbourhood that will result from the proposed redevelopment.
A final engineering report was tabled to Council prior to Christmas for approval and this will be obtained early in 2007. In addition, the Project team has spent time revising the Concept plans to more accurately reflect the aspirations/requirements of all parties including Ellerslie Soccer, Ellerslie Cricket, Auckland City Landscape Design and Regulatory.
That plan is now in its final form and the Council is preparing to publicly notify its existence by March/April 2007 in order to gain feedback form the wider community. Once that feedback has been obtained, a formal Resource Consent application can be lodged.
