Coach Development Courses 2012

The coach development page is dedicated to assisting our coaches gain New Zealand Football (NZF) accredited coaching qualifications. Our philosophy at the club is focused on helping our coaches reach their own goals in coach education. We take coach education very seriously and believe that better coaches help to develop better players.

The New Zealand Football (NZF) Coaching Education Scheme is available for all of our club coaches to access. You can specialize in your chosen age group, related to the players you coach. There are specific courses available for junior coaches, youth coaches and senior coaches.

NZF have recently revamped their coach education scheme and tailored it to the needs of the individual coaches.

This new approach is founded on the following principles:

· Appropriate for New Zealand - reflective of New Zealand’s unique culture and football environment.

· Flexible - providing coaches with more choice and a higher degree of ownership in selecting and following their own development pathway.

· Player centered, based on the needs of the players and designed to meet the age-related development needs of players throughout the game.

· Applicable and practical to - on-the job learning experiences (creating and recognizing learning experiences in the coaching environment).

· Life long learning - promoting continued personal development and self-responsibility for learning.

The new approach will provide a smorgasbord of learning opportunities that allow coaches to identify and access personal development that corresponds with the players they are coaching and their specific developmental needs.

For those coaches that have completed the Level One and would like to take the next step in coach education, NZF offer a wide range of modules at Level two. You can choose to complete just one module, say game day coaching, or if you prefer to achieve the entire level, complete all 4 of the modules.

CLUB BASED REFEREES (CBR's)

The Club will organise an in-house CBR course if there are sufficient participants.

Please email us if you would like to be notified when/if this course will take place. (If numbers do not allow us to run a course in-house we can arrange for members to attend a course at another venue)

We will not be running any level two modules in-house but we may be able to organise for NZF to put on a module at the club if there is sufficient interest. Otherwise we can arrange for you to go to a course at venue locally.
